The growth
My overall long-term goal was to develop positive relationships with collogues and families for student success. I feel like I have achieved this goal. I much more communicative with collogues and families of my students. This has made me develop in such a positive way in which I can have conversations with students’ family members and there is a familiarity there; the same with collogues. This transition for me makes me less tense when I have to present something to either party. I am able to communicate more effectively with parents and collogues now. Now that I have made connections with parents better, I can tell they feel more comfortable speaking with me as well.
The development
I have noticed a similarity between my initial CSTP self-assessment and my final CSTP self-assessment. My initial was engaging with all students and my final was having effective lesson designs. I started with focusing on the students themselves to focusing on the students learning processes and finding a way to present material while keeping it entertaining and engaging through virtual classes. I have found strengths in better communication skills, engaging my students through various means, and learning from everyone around me, even the students. I still have room to grow with class developments, student interactions and interactions with collogues and families of the students. I have changed in a sense that I can move forward in my career more confidently and knowledgeable. I most proud of the adaptability I was able to develop with distance learning, then being able to translate that to parents and students and letting them know we are all in this together to help their child grow as much as possible.
